Hello,
I am a registered nurse looking to make a career change. I have a BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a major in Illustration. I signed up for the professional membership because I am currently not enrolled in any school, not because I have any professional experience. I am excited to immerse myself into the art community. Because of my background in healthcare I have been displaying my art under a professional name: Donovan Ramsey Barnes. I have found that this has allowed me a comfortable degree of separation between the two worlds. I am also not a fan of social media so the adoption of a professional name has allowed me to reconcile the need for a social media presence in this industry with my anxiety towards it.
