Michael Derrah
Bio
Michael Derrah is an accomplished Storyboard Artist, Illustrator, and Designer with experience working on Tier A Feature Films and Television projects. With an impressive background in the film industry, Michael has contributed to internationally renowned productions such as Game of Thrones (HBO) and The Handmaid’s Tale (MGM HULU) for multiple seasons, as well as the highest grossing horror film of all time, IT: Chapters One & Two (Warner Bros.). Michael's talent and dedication have recently earned him a prestigious Directors Guild of Canada Award for his work on David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future (Neon) as concept illustrator. In addition to his work in film, Michael has also contributed to the advertising industry by illustrating the Nokia commercial tie-in for the upcoming James Bond film, No Time To Die (MGM). Currently, Michael is a valuable asset to the team at Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, having worked on the first two seasons and recently returning for the third. Michael began his career in film by co-directing and storyboarding two feature length test films for an Amazon Studios spec film contest, both of which won the "best feature length film" category. Michael holds an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Classical Animation Filmmaking and is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada as 1st Assistant Art Director since 2019. His diverse experience and exceptional skills make him a valuable addition to any creative team.
